Wearing Flip Flops with Orthotics

Post a new topicby lswavley on Mon Aug 20, 2007 3:18 am

Hi, I have just been told that I need to get Orthotics and I was wondering if I can still wear flip flops with them. Can anyone help with that answer?

From all that I've heard, flip flops, unless they have very solid soles, are not so good for your feet.
I'd suggest checking with your podiatrist.

You can velcro an orthotic to a flip flop, but it is not recommeded to do so. Flip flops aren't really shoes, and for a people with foot problems, there are not something we should be wearing. (Soapbox time) - American society has become so desensitized to decorum (the conventions or requirements of polite behavior), that people now wear flip flops on flights, in restaurants, to church, etc. Some of the ugliest things are feet. People spend hours a day trying to look good, and then throw on a nasty pair of flip flops and let their feet (typically ugly) be seen by the world. (Off my soapbox now) Good luck with the velcro.
