Post op neuroma

Post a new topicby SueLynn on Thu Jun 26, 2008 11:15 pm

Well, here I am back again. The first surgery was December 5, 2006 only to have a second surgery January 29, 2008. The pain is worse now than before the surgeries. I can't walk for any length of time without the pain becoming quite severe. I take an ice pack with me even in the car. We went on vacation and I iced my foot after doing any kind of walking. The newest problem is that the feeling is back and the burning is intense. Also, there is pain radiating down into the two toes with the burning. The pathology on the first surgery was definitely a neuroma Post op the pain was a little bit better and after 4 months it began to worsen. The doctor wanted to do exploratory surgery for the second surgery and found what looked like nerve fibers and some crystaline like substance. The pain is worse now than before either surgery and continues to worsen. I am having a MRI done next week. The doctor said he is at a loss for an explanation and wants to see if this shows anything and where to go from here. Does anyone have any advice that might help? Thanks in advance. SueLynn
