my neuroma hurt worse after the first shotwhen I got my first treatment of corticosteroids my foot actually hurt worse. It did not affect the pain after the first few days it felt the same as before. If the first shot doesnt work should I get more shots?
Re: my neuroma hurt worse after the first shotI can't really tell you whether to get more shots but my dr. said if one didn't help more probably wouldn't. The only one I had also made my foot hurt worse and didn't help. Then I had the surgery. If you are considering surgery make sure you have a surgeon that has alot of experience with mn surgery. Good luck either way....

Re: my neuroma hurt worse after the first shotI was the same as Debbie, but, i had two injections. The consultant said they don't usually work if the first one didn't.
At present i am waiting for my appointment for the surgery. I was told it would be anything up to six months, as yet its been 3 months. Part of me can't wait to have it done, as the pain is so bad. then the other side is i'm wary of the outcome. Good luck in what ever you decide to have done, Tracey
Re: my neuroma hurt worse after the first shotMy first shot in one foot took effect after about 7 days. Later it was back to the same pain. Went back and had a shot in each foot on a Thursday. By Saturday, I could barely walk. Have not gone back yet for any treatment. However, I have been massaging my lower legs and feet and have been going to a massage therapist for assistance. That seems to help but feet are still numb and painful. Guess only time will tell.
Re: my neuroma hurt worse after the first shotI have had 4 shots in about 1 3/4 months, the first two worked really well, this last one barely anything. I got the 4th one this past Mon and the pain came back by Wed.
