Morton's Neuroma

Hi ya'll.

Well so much for my successful MN surgery. I am now 3 months post op and my scar site keeps swelling up causing pressure on the bottom of my foot making it painful to walk. I went back to the pod 2 weeks ago and he thought I was just having a problem with one of my dissolvable stitches. So, he gave me a steroid shot and we thought we were done. The swelling did go away and so did the pain however, the swelling is back so he is sending me for an MRI in 2 days. Something else is going on and he wants to find out what. Anybody have any ideas or have this happen to you? I don't have any of the MN pain from before. Just the unexplained swelling.

Yes I can relate to this, I have much the same problem, a painful lump has appeared at the top of the scar, this is actually more painful than the Neuroma was, the surgeon has said it is possibly a nerve stump end which has not healed and may require a second operation to kill it off.

Holy Cow! I hope that isn't what I have! Good Luck to you! Mine keeps swelling. I'm really wondering if it isn't a cyst. I don't know. I guess I'm really impatient. lol. I hope that you find relief! Please let me know what happens.

I got the results of my MRI. I had a stitch that never dissolved and started to get infected. Needless to say I had surgery to remove the stitch and clean out my foot. Lots of yellow fluid in there. I am doing much much better now. No swelling. However, I still have pain in my foot but it just feels like I'm walking on a giant bruise. I would much rather have this pain then the pain of MN.

Hi all,
I had MN surgery January this year went well, then 3-4 weeks swelling and pain top of foot ,went back to specialist, diagnosed stress fracture of foot with MRI, in cam-boot for six weeks. Pain and swelling still continues -new diagnosis MN again-surgery.

Hi,

I am also 3 months post op and had the operation from underneath the foot. I had a corn growing on my scar and also have the pain back again. Awaiting an insole being made to try and avert some pressure from my wound.
