Sore heelsI have been working on a car lot for about 8 mos. and I have developed awful heel pain I have not twisted my foot or stepped on anything irregular but I continue to have very sensitive heels. On my days off I try to rest my feet but my heels continue to plague me. Does anyone have any idea what is happening. I have been an avid hiker for years and never had any problems with my feet. This is important to me as I expect to continue in sales for some time.
Re: Sore heelsHi,
There are a number or reasons to why you have heel pain. The most common is plantar fasciitis which is inflammation of the plantar fascia which attaches to the heel. If this gets pulled or streched, there are micro tears in the fascia and an inflammaotry reaction results. Is the pain worse when you get out of bed? Treatment is icing, stretching, good supportive footwear and possibly arch supports. If no improvement then you can try cortisone injections. It usually resolves within a year. It can also be a nerve entrapment, bone tumour (unlikely) or a type of arthridite. HTH, Lauren
