Heel Pain

Is it possible for a 6 year old to have heel spurs? Has anyone ever heard of this???? I have not taken her to the doctor as of yet...making an appt this week. She has been complaining of heel pain for about 5 weeks now. In the beginning I just though she bruised her heel pretty severly. Now, I'm thinking something else is wrong. Any suggestions?

I doubt heel spurs but she may have a small fracture of her heel bone, calcaneous. An xray would be helpful. Of note small fractures of this bone can sometimes be hard to visualize

Thank you. I took her to the doc on Friday and she has been diagnosed with Sever's Disease. Doc told us to get support for her shoes and we will keep an eye on it. If it is not getting better in a couple of weeks we will go see an orthopedist.
