hammertoe surgeryOne year ago I was conned by a podiatrist into having hammertoe surgery because I had a tiny callous under the bottom of my 4th toe. He performed surgery on all 4 of my toes, plus a bunionectomy of my big toe (which I needed).
I am considering suicide at this time. This man removed bones from my 4th and 5th toes and severed tendons in my previously healthy 2nd and 3rd toes. I can't bend or wiggle my 4th and 5th toes, and my 2nd and 3rd toes are now buckling up and becoming true hammertoes. All this for a callous? Anyone considering this surgery should be warned it is HORRIBLE. Never do this for cosmetic reasons! Don't do any surgery unless you are in severe pain. Also, podiatrists are NOT MD's. They are NOT as qualified as orthopedic surgeons. I am sure you won't have the guts to post this on your website.
Re: hammertoe surgeryI am sorry to hear about your poor experience. Your condition does sound to be treatable however. If you are seriously considering suicide, please see a pschiatrist.

Re: Re: hammertoe surgerythe reason your toes are drawing up into true hammertoes is because the nerves have been damaged and is weakening and pulling them! seriously, contact, dr.a. lee dellon, a neuro-surgeon who is a specialist in nerve surgery and literally fixes botched jobs done by others. www.dellon.com the institute for peripheral nerve surgery, baltimore, md. 410-467-5400 you will not be sorry you contacted him. just recently a surgeon who had his hand operated on in saudi arabia and had messed this surgeons fhand pitifullly - he came to the u.s. and saw dr dellon and is now fine and operating again!!
