Foot Pain

I do alot of distance running. One morning during my run I felt a severe pain in the middle of my foot, on the top. I could not walk and it was very swollen. The doctor x-rayed it, but found nothing. He put me on ibuprofen as needed, and to follow the rules of R.I.C.E. It is now 2 weeks later and although it is somewhat better, by the end of the day my foot is very swollen.
