pain during running in metatarsalHi. I am 18 and I have been a runner since I was 15. I play softball as well. Recently, I purchased a new pair of cleats for softball and they were causing me a great amont of upper foot pain. When I got home, I saw a decent sized bruise on the top of my foot but not on my metatarsals. I didn't think it was a running injury because I have been training consistently for five months without increasing mileage or anything. However, when I run, the pain is more focused on my metatarsals rather that the bruised area. Does anyone know what this might be? Do you think it is just an effect from the bruise? Thank You!
Re: pain during running in metatarsalIt appears that your new shoes were the cause of your foot problem. You also need to check to see if you tied your shoe laces to tight. That could cause a compression neuropathy on the top of your foot if there is numbness or tingling at that site. There could also be a tendonities formation based on top of the shoe irratation. Treat by ice and injection therapy.
Re: pain during running in metatarsalThank you! I will do that!
Re: pain during running in metatarsalDo you think running would hurt it anymore than it is?
