Achilles Tendonitis Nodule - Need PT help

Post a new topicby vieja on Tue Feb 19, 2008 11:12 pm

It was the paintful Plantar Fasciitis on my left foot that got me to the podiatrist but several weeks later on follw up I discovered my right food was diagnosed with achilles tendonitis I am very disatisfied with the care of my podiatrist and was recently told the nodule or bump on the right (achilles) could burst? I really don't have pain from it. I am 41, I weigh about 300 lbs and was using flats all the time - I now use Birkenstock and MBT shoes and am just tolerating my on again off again pain from standing too long at work but am REALLY concerned about my achilles rupturing. Is there physical therapy that I can do at home to reverse this? How do you "warm up" to stretch and exercise and what are the best exercises for it? Can this be reversed or should I expect to always have this huge bump near my ankle? Would appreciate any help. Thanks
